Value for money is essential in the current economic climate. In order to help you control costs and maximise profit we have created a number of web design packages that can be used individually, combined, or added later as the needs of your business dictate.
Our basic package is just £15 per month. Including four pages designed to display text and images, up to five e-mail addresses using your own website domain name and all hosting fees - compare it to the cost of a single press advertisement!
Features and enhancements can then be added such as an online shop or hotel booking system, further pages as required, logo design, carousels, animations, video.
Charges are either subscription based for ongoing server intensive services such as hosting, online shop, booking facilities and other database systems or one off fees for individual enhancements such as the addition of extra pages, creation of images or animations. One off fees start at £10.
Your dedicated account manager will communicate with you via e-mail, telephone or face to face as necessary to ensure that your package best reflects your requirements.
You may require a website, advertising and other marketing material designed and built from the ground up to provide a fully branded corporate image for which we also provide a free consultation and quote.
Go to our Web Design Packages page to discover more about the costs of a web design built around your requirements.
It is extremely important to maintain and provoke further interest in the potential client visiting your website, making them less likely to navigate away elsewhere before fully engaging with you and your product. Suitably stimulated visitors are also more likely to return and to pass the details on to others.
Sites should be easy to navigate and simple to understand enabling a stress free and enjoyable user experience. Happy and comfortable visitors make for better shoppers.
We offer a number of solutions to enhance the effectiveness of your site through the use of your own images or film, drawing from our library of pictures and animations, or by creating new to suit your particular product or campaign.
This website has been designed and developed with the idea of showcasing some of the possibilities available and in order to provide inspiration, so please visit the example hotel website design, example restaurant web design and example e-commerce web design pages as well as the DotCombo website itself even if they are not directly related to your business requirements.

The internet is increasingly becoming the shoppers' market place of choice. Everything is available online and with the likes of eBay, iTunes and Amazon in cyberspace and Tesco, Sainsbury's, Argos, Curry's et al on the high street all working together to make it an everyday occurrence it has become essential to have an online presence in order to maximise sales.
Not only is the World Wide Web the largest possible audience to market your product or service to it is the most economical method available - compare the costs as outlined above with those of rent, rates, energy bills associated with premises, advertising in newspapers, magazines, TV and radio, the associated staffing and labour liabilities etc. Of course you may already have committed to all of these things - all the more reason not to ignore the available benefit potential.
We offer solutions from a few products on a single page up to 1000s stored in databases and secure payment methods through internationally recognised providers.
Our hotel booking system allows establishments of any size to take automated online bookings and extends to enable organisation and management of all forward and previous room and extras allocation.

Search engine optimisation or SEO as it is commonly known, is all about making your website as attractive and available as possible to Google, Yahoo, Bing etc. so that it is returned as highly as possible when relevant searches are keyed into them.
There is a tremendous amount of information (and misinformation) on the web regarding this topic and some very bold claims made regarding what certain firms can achieve on your behalf - at a price.
The facts, however, are relatively straight forward: websites do better if they have plenty of relevant, original, user friendly content relating to the keywords concerned without falsely trying to fool the search engines by "spamming" or keyword "stuffing". Sites that are written in a manner that does not lose that content in amongst reams of complex code do better. Websites with clear and relevant internal and outbound links. Multiple, relevant inbound external links. External links from highly ranked websites. Sites correctly utilising page and heading titles and disabled accessibility functions. Websites that respond quickly over the web. Sites with relevant URLs, folder and file names. The age of a website can make a difference.
The list goes on, but the underlying principle is that in order to have credibility search engines go to a great deal of trouble to ensure that they are returning relevant results to queries - without credibility people won't use them, if people don't use them they don't get to make huge amounts of revenue through advertising. To that end they use complex algorithms to seek out and identify websites that are trying to cheat the system and bury them in the results pages, while rewarding sites that "play the game" by providing information useful to searchers.
The largest and most widely used search engine - Google - has an algorithm that takes over 200 continuously updated factors into account.
Obviously some factors are more easily influenced than others - we can't do much about the age of your website but we can create fast websites using the cleanest code (see below), correctly use keywords, proper naming and titling and adhere to accessibility guidelines for instance.
We do this as a matter of course when constructing websites in house and do not charge for it as an extra service. To do otherwise would be to suggest that we didn't build them correctly in the first place. We do, however, offer auditing and correction of sites built by third parties as a service.

This is an area fraught with pitfalls. How to generate an attractive e-mail out? how to send it quickly and legally? how to send it without getting your IP blacklisted? how to stop it from being excluded bt spam filters? and once you have achieved all of that how not to just plain irritate the person on the receiving end?
We take care of most of these issues by designing templates for you to update as required then pass them to approved service providers for sending out. Of course it depends a little on the message you are trying to convey as to how irritated the recipient is likely to be!

The way in which a website is coded affects it's speed, functionality, user experience and search engine optimisation.
There is little point in having an interesting and clever site if nobody sees it, or a highly ranking website that is sluggish and difficult to navigate prompting visitors to go elsewhere.
Unless there is a specific and vital requirement to do otherwise our sites utilise the strictest coding practices as set out and validated by the worldwide standards organisation W3C who include Microsoft, Apple, Adobe, BT, The BBC, AT&T, CERN, Facebook, IBM, Intel, Mozilla, Google and Yahoo amongst their membership. While this in itself does not guarantee success it does provide a benchmark standard on which to base the framework of a successful website. This site deliberately showcases a lot of functionality in its use of visual effects, databases and navigability yet manages to do so without the use of non standards compliant "hacks" earning the following validation:
XHTML (Extensible HyperText Markup Language) and more recently HTML5 are the coding languages used to put the text, images, film etc on the web page. If you right mouseclick on a blank section of this page and choose view source you can see the page as presented to the browser - a minimal amount of necessary code and a maximal amount of search engine friendly text, images and film.
CSS (cascading style sheets) is the coding method used to provide the look and feel of the site. This can be and often is written directly onto the web page in order to pass instructions to the browser, however this dilutes the page's search engine effectiveness, so we have parcelled it up in a separate file that also passes validation.
We have also used other languages. Javascript provides further functionality, again passed to the browser via a separate file. Javascript doesn't currently have a validation process, but every effort is made to keep it simple and unobtrusive. Hypertext preprocessor PHP is a server side language that we use to perform activity on the server rather than in your browser. MYSQL (SQL = Structured Query Language) is used for database functions such as the online shop and hotel booking system.
The result is a fast, fully functional, visually engaging and search engine friendly web page, providing the most effective user experience.
